The HeroCODE is a great program. Giving a framework for building safety leadership within the team and between the team and the craft. It centres around the concept of building rapport and gives a well-defined structure and roles for achieving that. The structure and roles of the HeroCODE are easy to understand and for the teams to follow. Very positive feedback on the section that challenges individuals to reflect on what aspects of their own style are good, but also what they need to work on to improve as a leader. The HeroCODE Playbook is made up of four distinct modules that come together to create a practical leadership eLearning course.
Module 1
The HeroCODE
The principles of HeroCODE provide a framework for building quality workplace cultures. In this module, understand how the CODE empowers a workforce by recognising and utilising the leadership potential in every person.
Module 2
Operational Tactics
Strategies work when everyone is empowered to play their part. In this module, learn how the Operational Tactics form part of the PEAK Performance strategy to encourage every worker to apply the principles of the HeroCODE.
Module 3
Building Rapport
Having strong relationships with the people in your workplace will transform the way you collaborate with others. In this module, learn four essential tools for building rapport that will help you navigate political landscapes so that you can communicate effectively.
Module 4
Values Alignment
Aligning safety values in your workplace is essential to establishing reliability. In this module, understand the four types of values and how to align your personal safety values with the safety values of your colleagues, your organisation, and your stakeholders.
Meet your HeroCODE Mentors
Craig Docherty
CEO / Founder at Fusion Safety
Craig Docherty is an OSH professional in the business of improving lives through three steadfast values: relationships, integrity, and leadership.
Craig knows safety. In his two years working as the Director OSH Inspectorate and Deputy Commissioner under the WHS Act to the Singaporean Government, he was involved in the investigation of over 130 workplace fatalities.
In 2007, Craig founded Fusion Safety, where he works with leaders to empower people worldwide.
Dr Ross Rynehart PhD
Director – Leadership at Fusion Safety
Dr Ross Rynehart PhD has been a professional facilitator of organisational change and experiential leadership development for over twenty years.
As Station Leader at Mawson Research Station in Antarctica, Ross built team cultures where leadership was expected from everyone – a bucket to which everyone could contribute.
His M.Ed (Hons) and PhD focused on building work-based team cultures by harnessing leadership potential through diversity.
Sandra Surace
Principal Consultant – Leadership and Organisational Behaviour
Sandra Surace is a dynamic and strategic specialist in positive psychology, well-being, and organisational behaviour with a Dip(T), B(Ed), and Master of Applied Positive Psychology. She is currently completing her Master of Counselling.
Sandra draws upon current research and evidence in organisational wellbeing and psychosocial safety climates to encompass a holistic view of workplaces through the eyes of physical and psychological health and safety.
Sandra supports, guides, and coaches learners to embed new knowledge and practices into their teams and workplaces.
Philip Ebeneyer
General Manager – Operations, Asia Hub at Fusion Safety
Philip Ebeneyer is an occupational safety and health professional with vast experience in shipyards, oil and gas, and building construction for over 20 years across Singapore.
He started his career as a rig training coordinator and progressed on to be an HSE advisor and trainer. Philip spent much time training crews on many offshore rigs in the Asia-Pacific region.
While most of his working tenure was in the oil and gas sector, Philip has sound experience in construction and shipbuilding safety.
Shawal Mohamed
Managing Director – Asia Hub at Fusion Safety
Shawal Mohamed is a Graduate Professional Member with IOSH with over twenty years of experience as a safety professional.
During his time with the Singaporean Government, Shawal was the WHS Investigation Officer and supported the government’s push towards a risk management structure as part of the Reforming Our WSH Landscape (2005–2014) initiative.
Shawal’s passion for learning and collaboration is integral to his philosophy that safety can only be effective if we keep ourselves relevant and well-acquainted with peers and stakeholders.

He is a global professional who has worked with high-profile clients to implement safety initiatives across a wide range of industries, including chemical manufacturing, construction, port operations, footwear, and garment manufacturing.
Nabil’s expertise ranges across varied operations, including consultancy and management, and is passionate about supporting people to succeed.
Nick Rankin

Nick Rankin is an innovative practitioner of experiential learning with a career that spans across diverse industries.

Ruel is a registered civil engineer with over twenty-five years of solid safety experience across a wide variety of engineering projects.
